3rd & 4th Year Medical Students
Introduction Letter to Rotating Medical Students
As far as what to expect while on your 4 week rotation, you will spend time at Lankenau, Methodist, Mercy Suburban, and Aria Bucks Hospitals. As an optional weekend coverage, you may spend time with our on-call residents at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Duties while on service will include rounding, writing progress notes, helping with day to day floor responsibilities, and of course, OR case coverage. You will also have the opportunity to spend time in the office, predominately with our program director, Dr. McPhilemy, but also some of our core faculty. It is strongly encouraged that you attend our education on Thursdays from 2p-7p (Rosner Room - basement of Evans Hall at PCOM). You may be expected to read basic XRs as well as discuss classifications and treatment options in commonly seen injuries. If involved in cases, you should be expected to know the basic musculoskeletal anatomy. Rounding and case coverage on the weekends with the junior residents is optional, but encouraged.
4th year medical students applying to the residency may be asked to give a 5-10 minute presentation on an interesting case they were involved with during their 4 week rotation.

Interviews for the residency are usually held in mid-November.
